Bermar Building is a second generation family business. The two family Directors were carrying the operational load and needed to step back, which made this an Operations Director appointment where cultural fit counted for more than anything on a CV. We searched the West Yorkshire market across both national and regional firms, and looked at commercial as well as operational backgrounds rather than holding out for a title match. The search ran under NDA throughout to keep it out of the market. Eight candidates were interviewed and five shortlisted inside four weeks, with the assessment run alongside the Executive Coach already working with the leadership team on succession. The appointment was made and started in January 2026.
